Xinhua News Agency,Ankara,Nov.9 (Xinhua News Agency),reported that 25 soldiers were injured and 7 others were missing after an explosion (JOESCO Bastion) occurred at a military base in the southeastern Turkish province of Hakari on Nov.9.

Turkey's defense ministry said in a statement that initial information indicated that the explosion was the result of an accident involving heavy weapons fire by soldiers.Injured soldiers have been taken to local hospitals for treatment, the search for the missing people is still ongoing.

An investigation into the cause of the accident has been launched, the statement said.

The base is believed to be in the shemdali region of hakkari province, close to Turkey's border with Iran and Iraq.
